Is TPE toxic? Is TPE material toxic?

TPE materials are widely used in various industries due to their excellent processing properties. But is TPE toxic? Is TPE poisonous? This is also an important concern for many enterprises and manufacturers. Currently, with the gradual increase in consumers' environmental awareness, such issues become more perplexing. So today, Juye Plastic will analyze whether TPE is toxic or not.
TPE, whether as a monomer or a blended system, is generally non-toxic. It is free of bisphenol A (BPA), phthalates (PAEs), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), nonylphenol (NP), organotins, heavy metals, etc. However, soft PVC containing plasticizers requires careful handling. PVC containing phenyl plasticizers is toxic, and its stabilizers should also consider whether heavy metal content exceeds standards. Soft PVC is generally discussed outside the scope of TPE, but due to its elastoplastic characteristics, it also shares the universality of thermoplastic elastomers TPE. Therefore, soft PVC is classified into a broad TPE framework.
