Toughening Agent

When TPE is blended as a toughening agent into hard plastics for processing products, it can improve the brittleness of the base material, enhance impact resistance and toughness. The processing is compatible with injection molding and extrusion, offers good compatibility, is easy to process, and edge trim can be recycled and reused.

TPE materials, with their excellent high elasticity, good compatibility, and low-temperature impact resistance, are often used as environmentally friendly toughening agents in the modification processing of rigid plastics such as PP, PE, ABS, and PS. They are widely used in production scenarios like injection molding, extrusion, and modification pelletizing. Some general-purpose plastics and recycled plastics inherently have poor toughness and high brittleness, are prone to cracking at low temperatures, and have weak impact resistance. By blending and adding an appropriate amount of TPE for toughening modification, the mechanical defects of the base material can be significantly optimized, improving the performance of finished products.

During processing, TPE toughening particles and the base plastic are uniformly blended in proportion, melted, plasticized, shear-dispersed, and extruded into pellets using a twin-screw extruder to produce toughened modified plastic raw materials, which are then secondarily processed and molded into various products. TPE has excellent compatibility with most polyolefins and general-purpose plastics, and can be uniformly dispersed in the base material system without the need for additional compatibilizers. It effectively absorbs impact energy, improves the brittle fracture characteristics of the material, and greatly enhances the toughness, tensile resistance, and low-temperature resistance of products, solving the problems of ordinary plastics being prone to brittleness, cracking, and insufficient toughness.

This toughening modification process has wide adaptability and a broad processing window. It does not change the basic processing characteristics of the original plastic, ensures stable molding, and achieves a high yield rate. At the same time, the TPE toughening system is non-toxic, environmentally friendly, recyclable, and reusable, with no vulcanization residue, offering higher cost-effectiveness compared to traditional toughening agents. The modified plastic products have a more stable structure, significantly improved bending resistance and impact resistance, and can meet quality requirements across various fields such as daily necessities, automotive parts, pipes, and profiles.
