TPE wire is composed of one or more flexible conductors, covered with a soft and light sheath; cable is composed of one or more insulated conductors, covered with a tough outer layer of metal or rubber. Cables and wires generally consist of three parts: core, insulation, and protective outer sheath. The good aspect of TPE wire is mainly its feel, so considering direct human contact, TPE wire also has its merits. When extruding TPE wire, instability is normal; even a drop of cold water on the die head can affect the stability. There is no absolute stability!
Increase conductor adhesion
(1) Preheat the conductor. If high adhesion is required, raise the preheat temperature or voltage as much as possible without causing discoloration of the compound.
(2) Use a pressure die, or adjust the distance inside the die head as far back as possible, while ensuring the wire span, outer diameter, insulation thickness, and no eccentricity.
(3) Try not to pass through the water trough in the first section!
(4) Or, if conditions permit, adjust the compound hardness, use as soft a compound as possible for better adhesion. The compound used for extrusion should be appropriately adjusted according to weather changes.
(5) When all else fails, use irregular stranding of the conductor to increase the contact area between the compound and the conductor.
Unsmooth wire surface:
(1) Screw temperature. Before start-up, isn't the plasticizing effect of the compound already determined?
(2) Extrusion pressure (generally, as pressure increases, the surface becomes smoother)
(3) Check if the wire is scratched after extrusion (die tip scratch or residue on die tip)
