The elastomer industry usually refers to TPE as a composite functional material modified from SEBS.

TPE is a classic aggregation-induced emission molecule, meaning it has no fluorescence in solution but strong fluorescence in solid state, so transparent TPE materials also have important applications in organic optoelectronics and other fields.

Styrenic transparent TPE is widely used in the footwear industry, largely replacing rubber; at the same time, its use in industrial rubber products such as adhesive tapes and rubber sheets is also expanding.

Rubber TPE customization

TPE elastomer soft gel has excellent comprehensive properties and is the most commonly used soft gel material for secondary injection molding, overmolding, and two-shot injection molding.


TPE overmolding, as the name implies, is the process of overmolding TPE soft gel material onto other materials.

Olefinic transparent TPE has excellent weather resistance and ozone resistance, so it is called the fastest-growing variety of TPE, and it is mainly used as a rubber material in fields such as automotive and home appliances.

Because transparent TPE material requires high light transmittance, the surface quality of the material products must be strictly controlled, without any defects such as streaks, pores, whitening, haze, black spots, discoloration, poor gloss, etc. Therefore, throughout the injection molding process, strict or even special attention must be paid to the TPE raw materials, equipment, mold, and even product design.

Rubber TPE customization

The commonly used processing methods include one-shot molding with a two-shot injection molding machine, or using a regular injection machine with an overmolding mold for secondary injection molding. Overmolded TPE products are typically handles and grips. TPE soft gel material has a special comfortable touch, and the introduction of TPE material improves the grip and tactile feel of the product.

Diene transparent TPE, diene TPE is mainly an isomer of natural rubber, so it is also called thermoplastic trans-natural rubber. Although its heat resistance and mechanical strength are not as good as rubber, it is widely used in footwear, sponge, light films, and other industrial rubber products due to its good transparency, weather resistance, electrical insulation, and photodegradability.

The thickness of the TPE/TPR overmolding layer. In most overmolding applications, a wall thickness range of 1.5-3.0mm will ensure good adhesion. If the TPE layer is too thin, injection molding is difficult, adhesion strength is low, and feel is poor. If the TPE layer is too thick, on one hand cost is high, and on the other hand, defects such as shrinkage and bubbles may occur.

If the product's filling performance is poor, there will be too much pressure reduction, excessively long filling time, unqualified filling, etc., causing quality issues.
