In the elastomer industry, what is commonly referred to as TPE is a composite functional material modified with SEBS.
The transparent grades are divided into transparent and translucent series, each with various hardness levels; excellent transparency; smooth and soft surface; good yellowing resistance, tear resistance, good tensile strength; environmentally friendly; suitable for various transparent series products.
Transparent TPE materials have different product properties in different applications. Thermoplastic elastomer is also called TPE material. Transparent TPE not only has the processing properties of thermoplastic plastics, but also has the physical properties of vulcanized rubber. This is the so-called advantageous combination of plastic and rubber. Transparent TPE is widely used in people's daily life and production.

Since any impurity in the TPE material may affect the transparency of the product, attention must be paid to sealing during storage, transportation, and feeding to ensure the cleanliness of TPE raw materials. Especially if the TPE raw material contains moisture, heating will cause the raw material to deteriorate, so it must be dried. During injection molding, a drying hopper must be used for feeding.
To prevent contamination of TPE raw materials and the presence of old materials or impurities in the screw and attachment depressions, especially materials with poor thermal stability, the parts should be cleaned with a screw cleaner before use and after shutdown to ensure that they do not adhere impurities.

Transparent TPE, specifically thermoplastic elastomer, while TPR is translated from English, strictly speaking it is called thermoplastic rubber. This is the most basic difference. TPE is generally molded by modifying SEBS basic materials, while TPR is modified from SBS basic materials.
TPE transparent materials require high light transmittance, so the surface quality of material products must be strictly required. There must be no defects such as streaks, air bubbles, whitening, halos, black spots, discoloration, poor gloss, etc. Therefore, during the entire injection molding process, strict and even special requirements must be placed on TPE raw materials, equipment, molds, and even product design.
