In the elastomer industry, TPE usually refers to composite functional materials modified from SEBS.
Transparent TPE materials require high light transmittance, which necessarily demands strict surface quality of the material products. They must be free from any defects such as streaks, pores, whitening, halos, black spots, discoloration, poor gloss, etc. Therefore, throughout the injection molding process, great attention and strict or even special requirements must be given to TPE raw materials, equipment, molds, and even product design.
Transparent TPE, specifically, is a thermoplastic elastomer, while TPR is translated from English and strictly speaking is called thermoplastic rubber. That is the most basic difference.
