TPE material is used in overmolding injection bonding, with TPE soft rubber as the outer soft coating layer.

The wall thickness of the TPE rubber layer should be as uniform as possible to achieve the best molding cycle. The transition between different wall thicknesses should be gradual to reduce fluid flow problems such as air streaks and bubbles.

Olefinic transparent TPE has good weather resistance and ozone resistance, making it the fastest-growing variety of TPE. It is mainly used as a key rubber material in fields such as automotive and home appliances.

Common hard materials for bonding are mainly plastics, but also metals and fabrics. TPE injection bonding with fabric is mainly used in luggage and bag products, which, like metal overmolding, is generally false overmolding.

Grinding methods such as steam blasting, sandblasting, shot peening, and chemical etching can also be used to produce surfaces with different gloss and appearance.

However, due to its high crystallinity, forming a fusion layer on the covered surface requires higher energy. At the same time, the self-lubricating property of POM is not conducive to rapid coverage of the TPE material on the POM hard plastic surface.
