Key Conditions for Soft Touch Overmolding

Interior overmolding should provide accurate hard substrate material grade, wall thickness, texture, and mold structure. Different PP, ABS, PC/ABS, or PA grades may exhibit different adhesion performance; also check shrinkage differences, stress cracking, and peel risk after long-term heat treatment.

Prototyping and Validation Process

  1. Clarify component location, operating temperature, contact media, and customer specifications;
  2. Use production-grade substrate, color, and texture to make samples close to the real structure;
  3. Check odor, appearance, touch, dimensions, assembly, and initial adhesion;
  4. Re-test after heat, humidity, light, abrasion, and cleaning agent treatment;
  5. Lock in material, process window, and batch inspection standards.
