Introduction to TPR Raw Material:

The application of TPR soft rubber material in the toy industry is becoming increasingly common. In the traditional application field of soft materials for toys, TPR material is gaining more consumer favor and trust due to its superior environmental safety and non-toxic characteristics.

Every industry has its corresponding standards, and the toy industry also has its specific industry standards. Moreover, different toy products have varying requirements for the physical and processing properties of TPR soft rubber material.

Characteristics of TPR Thermoplastic Elastomer:

Children's toys are items specifically designed for children's play. Toys serve as a pillar for children to transform imagination, thinking, and other psychological processes into actions. Children's toys can develop motor skills, train perception, stimulate imagination, arouse curiosity, and provide material conditions for children's physical and mental development. The selection of materials for children's toys is also quite strict. Since they come into contact with children, the materials must be environmentally friendly, non-toxic, and non-irritating to the skin. The TPE raw materials developed and produced by Dongguan JuYe have passed

ROHS, REACH, and EN71 testing standards, making them one of the preferred safe materials for children's toys. TPR soft rubber belongs to a type of thermoplastic elastomer, which is a composite functional material modified based on SBS and SEBS as the matrix materials. For toy production and processing, TPR soft rubber materials used for oil spraying and screen printing typically have a hardness range of Shore 30~90A (adjustable according to customer requirements). The material can be natural color, semi-transparent, or transparent, all with excellent oil spraying and screen printing characteristics.

Five Major Properties of TPR:

1. Excellent color matching performance.

Soft rubber toy products often come in bright and diverse colors, requiring high color matching performance from TPR materials. A qualified TPR grade should have good pigment dispersion properties and facilitate effective coloring, achieving vibrant colors and uniform color matching effects!

2. Good oil spraying, painting, and screen printing performance

Most toy products require oil spraying, painting, or screen printing. To achieve excellent oil spraying and screen printing effects (paint does not peel off), the compatibility between TPR rubber material and ink or paint is crucial. Suitable paint or ink should be selected based on the characteristics of TPR.

3. Crack resistance of soft toys

For some very soft toys, appropriate TPR materials should be selected to prevent cracking after product processing. Additionally, optimizing and improving the molding process can reduce cracking caused by stress shrinkage!

4. Environmental performance

Although most TPR materials meet the environmental standards of ROHS and EN71-3 testing, different countries or regions have varying testing standards for toy products. Some require the absence of PAHs (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) and NP (nonylphenol), while others require the absence of SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern) specified by REACH. Therefore, when compounding TPR rubber materials, these environmental requirements must be fully considered!

5. Other requirements

Some toy products require high tensile and tear resistance, while others require good rebound elasticity, etc. In summary, the most suitable TPR material should be provided based on the specific requirements of customers.

Regarding material hardness, TPR can provide materials with a hardness range of 0-100A for selection.

Regarding TPR processing, injection molding and extrusion are currently the main methods, while special TPR materials can be blow-molded.
