The FAQs about TPE materials
TPE elastomer soft rubber is used in two-shot injection molding and overmolding.
The wall thickness of TPE parts should be as uniform as possible to achieve the best molding cycle. Transitions between different wall thicknesses should be gradual to reduce fluid flow problems such as gas lines and bubbles.
Transparent TPE is used in stationery, sports equipment, etc., and has good UV resistance, chemical resistance, and is easy to color and process.
Overmolding fireproof TPE
POM overmolding of POM. Although POM has a low melting point of only 180°C.
SEBS is the product of hydrogenation of SBS. SEBS has a saturated molecular structure, which makes its properties very different. It has the necessary aging resistance, yellowing resistance and other characteristics required to produce transparent TPE, and also promotes excellent properties such as high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance. This is how transparent TPE is made.
Transparent grade includes transparent and translucent series, each with various softnesses; excellent transparency; smooth and soft surface; good yellowing resistance, tear resistance, good tensile strength; meets environmental requirements; suitable for all kinds of transparent series products.
Overmolding fireproof TPE
TPE as raw material. TPE material manufacturers offer environmental friendliness, non-toxicity, good elasticity, and smooth surface. In addition,
To achieve the matte appearance of thermoset rubber surfaces, a rougher mold surface is required. Generally speaking, the rough surface produced by electric discharge machining (EDM) of the mold cavity will produce an excellent workpiece appearance and make demolding relatively easy. Abrasive methods such as steam blasting, sandblasting or shot blasting, as well as chemical etching, can also be used to produce surfaces with different gloss and appearance.
Transparent TPE, specifically, is a thermoplastic elastomer, while TPR is translated from English and strictly speaking is called thermoplastic rubber. This is the most basic difference. TPE is generally modified and formed from SEBS base material, while TPR is based on SBS base material.
